Facts About My Inventions And My Art

Levers and Gears:

I recognized that when levers and gears were applied together properly, they could accomplish amazing things. Gears and Levers were used in almost all of my inventions from cranes, to helicopters, to the automatic turnspit.

Defense Contractor:
I hated war, but since Renaissance Italy was filled with war, I could not avoid it. I designed many weapons including missiles, multi-barreled machine guns, grenades, mortars, and even a modern-styled tank.

I also planned an underwater breathing device, however, I didn't expose it because I was afraid that men would use it for evil during the war.

The Last Supper:

The last supper is one of my best known pieces. My mural began to deteriorate due to my experimental technique.

**the last supper was repainted twice after Da Vinci's death.**

Worldview Icons

Hello, I am here to tell you how my paintings can relate to the worldviews icons. After I studied nature and anatomy, my knowledge increased greatly. This made me value remarkably accurate figures. It also made me believe that things should be realistic and we should value the human body. During the Renaissance, my role as an artist changed, my social status also increased in society. I became a celebrity with international reputations. Economy changed for me too. As artists were gaining popularity, we were also gaining wealth.

Welcome back!

Hello again! As you all know my name is Leonardo da Vinci. I am going to let you now a little bit about my history! I was born April 15th 1452 in, the present day, Florence, Italy; therefore I am Italian. I am the illegitamite son of Messer Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci, a Florentine legal notary, and Caterina, a peasant. My true full birth name was, "Lionardo di ser Piero da Vinci". It means, "Leonardo, (son) of (Mes)ser Piero from Vinci. I spent my first five years in the hamlet of Anchiano in the home of my mother, then from 1457 lived in the household of my father, grandparents and uncle in the small town of Vinci. My father married a sixteen-year-old girl named Albiera, who died young. I received an informal education in Latin, geometry and mathematics but did not show any particular signs of aptitude. When I was sixteen my father married again, twenty-year-old Francesca Lanfredini. It was not until his third and fourth marriage that Ser Piero produced legitimate heirs. Thats all for now, Thanks for following me through this journey!
See you next time,
  Leonardo da Vinci
